These terms apply to every courier, delivery and transport job booked with First Choice Transportation Ltd. By booking a job by phone, email, WhatsApp or our website, you agree to them.
First Choice Transportation Ltd, company number 15276847, VAT number GB 462008421, registered office 139 Chase Side, London N14 5HD. Telephone 020 8202 2008; email enquiry@firstchoicetransportation.co.uk. “We” and “us” mean First Choice Transportation Ltd; “you” means the person or business that books the job.
We quote from the details you give us: the collection and delivery addresses, the size, weight and value of the goods, and the timing. Our rates are per mile, plus VAT. If the goods or the job turn out to be different from what you told us, we may change the price before collection. A booking is confirmed when we accept it by phone, email or message.
You must pack the goods properly for the journey, label them correctly, and tell us about anything fragile, valuable or regulated before collection. Dangerous goods are carried only under the ADR regulations, and must be declared, classified, packed and labelled by you before collection; ADR loads are driven by an ADR-certified driver and quoted individually. We do not carry illegal or prohibited items, and we do not carry goods that need refrigeration.
We aim to meet the agreed collection and delivery times, but times can be affected by traffic, weather, road closures, ferry or tunnel delays and other events outside our control. The receiver signs for the goods and the driver photographs the delivery; this proof of delivery is sent to you.
If no one is available at the agreed time, or the goods are not ready, the first 15 minutes of waiting are free. After that, a waiting fee of £25 applies, then £15 for every further hour of waiting. If a collection or delivery cannot be completed, a return journey may be charged.
We may use partner drivers, vehicles or hauliers to complete a job. We remain responsible to you for the job.
Our liability for loss of or damage to goods is limited to the value of the goods, up to a maximum of £20,000, which is the limit of our goods in transit insurance (cover of up to £20,000 per day). Cash, jewellery and electronics are covered within that limit. If your goods are worth more, tell us the value before booking so that you can arrange additional cover. For journeys between countries, the CMR Convention applies. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as loss of profit or business. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.
Report any damage or loss in writing within 7 days of delivery, or within 7 days of the expected delivery date if goods are lost. Keep the packaging and send photographs and proof of the goods’ value.
You can cancel free of charge within 10 minutes of placing the booking. After that, a cancellation charge of at least £25 applies.
Payment is due at the time of booking, by bank transfer. Regular business customers may be invoiced instead; invoices are payable within 7 days of the invoice date.
Jobs outside the UK are charged at £1.20 per loaded mile and £0.80 per empty mile, plus crossings, tolls, any driver hotel stay (from £150 per night) and VAT. You are responsible for customs paperwork unless we agree to prepare it for you, which is charged as an extra. See our European courier page.
We handle your personal data as set out in our privacy policy.
We may update these terms. The version on our website when you book applies to that booking.
