To arrange a courier collection, have the collection and delivery addresses, a contact at each end, the item’s size and weight, and the time it will be ready. Then book: online with a parcel network for next-day pick-up, or by phone with a same day courier who can collect within the hour. First Choice Transportation Ltd explains each step.

Whether you arrange a courier collection online or by phone, those details are what every courier asks for.
With those to hand, booking a courier takes a few minutes.
A courier collection from home works the same as from a business, with a few things to check:
For furniture and appliances see our furniture courier and large item courier pages.
You can arrange a courier to collect a parcel from an address that is not yours: a seller, a supplier, a relative or another office. The courier needs:
Tell the person at the collection address that a driver is coming. Most failed collections happen because the sender did not know, or the item was not ready. The delivery can then come to you or go straight to a third address.
There are two ways to book a courier, and they suit different jobs:
We work the second way: call 020 8202 2008 or WhatsApp 07507 612919, 24 hours a day. Prices are on our courier prices page.
Yes. The collection address does not have to be yours: give the courier the address, a contact name and a phone number for whoever is handing the item over, and tell that person when to expect the driver. You can have it delivered to yourself or to a third address.
For a parcel network, book by the evening before; most collect on the next working day within a long window. A dedicated same day courier can be booked for now: First Choice Transportation collects within 30 to 45 minutes across London and the Home Counties and within the hour elsewhere.
Someone needs to hand the item over, unless the courier allows a safe-place collection. For a dedicated courier, the driver checks the item with the person handing it over, so arrange for an adult to be there and give the courier that person’s phone number in case of a delay.
Tell the courier as soon as you know. A network driver on a round may have to leave and come back on another day. With a dedicated courier, ring the operators before the driver sets off rather than after they arrive, so the driver is not sent for nothing.
A network driver collects parcels the driver can lift alone, typically up to 30kg. A van courier can take heavier and larger items: our drivers help carry them between the door and the van, and for heavy items someone at each end takes the other side. Mention the weight when you book.
Call 020 8202 2008 or send a WhatsApp, 24 hours a day, with both postcodes, what the item is with rough size and weight, and when it is ready. We confirm the price and vehicle, then a driver collects within the hour. The recipient signs and a photo is texted to you.
